From January 1978 until October 1984, with only the winter of 1980-81 spent in California,
we enjoyed the quiet lifestyle of Athens,
Greece. Living amongst all the classic beauty and
history of this old country allowed us to explore life like never before. We explored the
ancient sites of Sunion,
Meteora and Delphi numerous
times. And our island hopping took us to
Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, and
Hydra as well as
numerous smaller islands. Even historic Greece has wild fires but, with a sea full of water they use powerful waterbombers to fight the fires. And of course, no look at Greece would be complete without the backside of Greece.
