The Island of Malta is steeped in history, and religion. Surrounded by crystal clear waters with beautiful beaches and perfect weather it is amazing that it is not a more popular tourist spot. For a week in late July, 1984 I spent what could only be called a week of peaceful bliss here. Travelling alone I had no worries or pressures for a whole week. The only decisions I had to make were where to eat, drink, and enjoy the quiet lifestyle.

Old buildings mixed with colorful banners abound everywhere.

More colorful banners with numerous interesting shops.

Religious statues adorn the walls everywhere.

A quiet corner bar was a great place to relax.

A view of the city from the Mediterranean.

Crystal clear water between Malta and Gozo.
