North of Athens near the town of Kalambaka lies the monasteries of Meteora. Perched
high atop gigantic rocks these monasteries were built in the 15th and 16th centuries. The
word "Meteora" roughly translates from Greek to "suspended between sky and earth."
A wonderful day exploring the monasteries was topped off with a picnic of Greek food
in the small mountain village of Metsovon.
